This trip
is a combination of two treks, in regions that are totally
different yet attractive in their own ways.
The first is to the recently opened Ha Valley
in Bhutan. Outsiders were not permitted here till the ealy
2000. This walk takes you along the ridges around the Ha Valley
where the only people you are likely to see are Yak hearders
and where you walk through high valleys and lakes that border
Sikkim and Tibet.
The next trek is from Darjeeling (a fascinating
destination on its own), where you walk through villages and
forests of rhododendron along the Singlila ridge with stunning
views of the world's highest mountains including Mt. Everest
and Kangchenjunga. After our trek, we plan to stay in a tea
plantation to experience a unique lifestyle. However, as the
bungalow we use is small it will come on a first come first
serve basis.
To ensure this unique experience, do book
early.
