The PIKE
This trek is one of the most beautiful, off the beaten track,
parts of the Himalayas. In the foothills of the Khumbu region,
it offers outstanding views of snow-capped mountains and a
chance to experience some of the Nepali culture. The route
will ascend to 4065 meters and will require a moderate level
of fitness, but will prove to be a very rewarding adventure.

GOKYO
TREK
This is a classic combination of Gokyo and Kalapathar trek.
We take the same trail till famous Namche Bazaar and then
we head North West to Gokyo 5350 m. From Gokyo, more of Everest
itself is visible, though from a slightly greater distance
than from Kala Pattar. The mountains are more spectacular,
the Ngozumpa Glacier is the largest in the Nepal Himalaya
and from a ridge above Gokyo, four 8000 m peaks (Cho Oyu,
Everest, Lhotse and Makalu) are visible at once. The view
of the tremendous ice ridge between Cho Oyu (8153 m) and Gyachung
Kang (7922 m) is one of the most dramatic panoramas in Khumbu.
From here you will walk through challenging Cho La, a 5420
metre-high pass into Khumbu valley and then walk upto Kalapathar
from where you can get closer view of the Everest.

JUGAL HIMAL
This is another trek off the beaten trackk to the north east
of Kathmandu where a cluster of peaks called Jugal Himal lies
which includes Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m), Madiya (6257 m) and
Phurbi Chhyachu (6637 m). It is very remote and less visited
region though easily accessible from Kathmandu. This trail
ascends through forests to high alpine lakes. Though relatively
easy to trek, it involves a lot of climbing on narrow trails.
There are not many inhabitants around and no hotels but there
are tremendous views of the mountain. You can approach this
trek from just above Dolalghat to the large bazaar of Chautaara
(1410 m) and then head north to Panch Pokhari at 3,600 m,
a seldom visited pilgrimage site, then trail returns back
through Sermathang to Panchkal on the Kodari road.

KANCHANJUNGA TREK
Kanchanjunga the third highest peak of the world, falls in
complete wilderness. It was only opened in 1988 although people
have trekked in the area in connection with mountaineering
expeditions since the turn of the century. The trail takes
you from the southeastern corner of Nepal at altitudes of
just 70m to the base camp of Kanchenjunga, one of the greatest
mountain masses in the world. It is one of Nepal’s least
trekked areas and certainly one of the best. The foothills
of Kanchanjunga is the home of Limbus and it borders the Indian
state of Sikkim, so the circuit of the mountain is politically
impossible. You can either trek to the north or south Kanchanjunga
base camp or best alternative is to visit both South and North
Kanchenjunga. This region remains technically restricted;
your trek has to be arranged through a registered trekking
agency and get a special permit. Also this trek is very strenuous
so one needs to be physically fit.

MAKALU
WITH NATURE
This is an outstanding trek in eastern Nepal. One of the bigger
eight thousand expedition peaksin the Himalayas. The trek
to Makalu Base Camp visits one of the most remote and unfrequented
areas of Nepal. The long trek and unspoiled terrain makes
this trek a classic in its own right. There are spectacular
views of rugged Himalayan peaks, including Mt. Makalu (8463m),
fifth highest in the world, Mt. Chamlang (7319 m) and Mt.
Baruntse (7129m). Within about 40 kms, these high peaks plunge
downward to 670m. at the Arun river. This provides stunning
contrasts, where high waterfalls cascade into deep gorges,
craggy rocks rise from lush green forests, and colourful flowers
bloom beneath white snow peaks. This unique landscape shelters
some of the last pristine mountain ecosystems on earth. Rare
species of animals and plants flourish in diverse climates
and habitats, relatively undisturbed by man. In Makalu-Barun
National Park are some 3000 species of flowering plants, 440
species of birds, and 75 species of mammals, including the
endangered clouded leopard, red panda and musk deer. This
remarkable bio diversity is considered to be of global significance,
and provides a living laboratory for international scientific
research. Its a long trek up the Arun Kosi, then climb over
a high pass into the remote Barun Valley, protected as Nepal’s
newest national park. A rough trail leads past yak pastures
and glaciers to the foot of Makalu. This trek goes high up
to 5000m. One has to be physically fit, as this trek is graded
4.

MUSTANG THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM
Mustang, an ancient Himalayan Kingdom, is a paradise steeped
in the richness of historical, cultural, topographical and
archaeological environments. It is perched on the Himalayan
world and was opened to trekkers under special rules &
regulation just a couple of years ago. Due to its unique geographical
phenomena Mustang district has become the fervent target of
many tourists. Most of the people in this region practices
Tibetan culture. Inside the walled city of Lo Manthang are
some of the largest Tibetan Buddhist gompas in Nepal. Generally
a trek to Mustang is hard because of high altitude, exposed
terrain and continual strong winds. This route, almost treeless,
barren landscape, steep rocky trail up and down the hill and
an eye-catching panoramic views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna,
Nilgiri and several other magnificent peaks, makes this region
a true Shangila of Nepal. As the trekking trail in this region
passes through high altitude, exposed terrain and continual
strong winds, one has to be be physically fit to undertake
this trip.

DOPLO
Dolpo is located inside the shy-phoksundo National Park of
mid-western Nepal, behind the Dhaulagiri massif, towards the
Tibetan plateau. Cut off by a series of very high passes,
closed by snow most of the year, Dolpo remains a truly isolated
corner of Nepal. Time has stood still here for centuries,
as the inhabitants of Tibetan stock continue to live, cultivate
and trade the way they have done since time immemorial. The
finally preserved Eco-system encompasses a wild and wonderful
variety of plants and wildlife, including the blue sheep and
leopard. A trek through Dolpo is an experience not easily
forgotten.

MANASLU
Another less frequented trek, but otherwise this trek has
always been the domain of the mountaineering expedition. Manaslu
(8,156 m) was attempted by Japanese expeditions every year
from 1952-1956 when the first ascent was made. Manaslu came
to be known as Japanese Mountain. This one a circuit around
the eight highest mountain in the world Manaslu is geographically
spectacular and culturally fascinating. Though crossing the
Larkya La is not that difficult, but the trek around Manaslu
is harder than most in Nepal. The trail is rough and steep
and it often literally hangs on a bluff high above the river.
We do not suggest to some one having slightest tendency towards
acrophobia. Also the trek is remote and has no rescue facilities
or opportunities to bail out if you are tired. A rough trail
heads up to the Burhi Gandaki through wild Gurung country
to Nupri. Nupri, inhabitat by Tibetan immigrants, provides
a fantastic mountain views and crossing the Larkya La is one
of the most dramatic of any pass in the Himalaya. This area
still falls on the restricted area and has to go according
to HMG rules and regulation.

RARA TREK
Rara lake is a good destination for a trek in western Nepal.
The route is very much off the beaten track and affords glimpses
of cultures and scenery very different from the rest of Nepal.
Rara is a clear, high altitude lake ringed with pine, spruce
and juniper forests and snow capped Himalayan peaks. The trek
to Rara is somewhat strenuous. Whereas Karnali is Nepal's
longest and largest river, the Karnali, springs forth from
the base of Mt. Kailash in Tibet, the center of the universe
for both the Buddhist and Hindu religions. Flowing south into
Nepal, it forms the major drainage system of the western districts.
The Karnali is one of the finest BIG volume river trips in
the world, a classic expedition into Nepal's remote, unpopulated
"wild west".
ROLWALING ADVENTURE
Rolwaling is the east-west valley below Gauri Shankar (7145
m). This is an isolated and culturally diverse area. There
are several mysterious stories about this valley through which
the forefathers of the present-day Sherpa's once came. It
is here that the notorious and celebrated Yeti is supposed
to make his home. Entire research expeditions so far have
failed to trace it out. The trail leads you through a wealth
of variety, on one hand through Tamang and Chettri villages
with their typical terraced fields, on the other through dense,
gloomy primeval forests and over broad ridge backs with wonderful
views. Rolwaling and Tesi Lepcha are technically closed to
foreigners but by buying a climbing permit of one peak i.e.
Ramdung you will be explore the richness of this area and
if interested you can try to summit the peak.
